The Connected Community is a highly interactive demonstration designed for training in mobile products and services and showing a "day in the life" of users subscribing to them. This 3D tool trains call center staff on telecom products, weaving use cases into a suburban setting to spark instructor-led discussions and deepen understanding of daily user needs.
Our team tackled stale, static class content flagged as dull by prior feedback. Partner instructional designers sought an expandable, modular tool—starting with one business, growing later—demanding a freeform experience to boost interactivity beyond rigid, traditional formats.
While the leadership direction of the project specified a facilitated walkthrough by an instructor, the experience also allows for independent access after the class session has ended. I guided designers to slay boredom with a 3D suburban hub—three businesses and a church. Coders added a replayable UI with day/night cycles, making it the course’s top hit. Users clamored to return, proving our unique engagement edge, unmatched by any team in our organization.
